Tim Sweatman
Are you afraid you are sabotaging your most important relationships? Do you wish your partner could just understand how you feel? Do you feel like you are just going through the motions in life?
In my practice, I work to create a nurturing environment and provide support that will help people learn to develop ways to build a richer experience of life regardless of the troubles they face. I believe that mindfulness, an enhanced awareness of the potential embodied within each present moment, opens new ways to respond to the stress each of us faces on a daily basis. This greater awareness of the present offers us the opportunity to engage more creatively with the people in our lives, the circumstances we face, and with ourselves.
My Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been a counselor and psychotherapist for the past eleven years. I have worked with people of all ages across the life span assisting individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of problems. I enjoy working with clients who experience such issues as lack of joy, heartbreak, loss, addiction, hopelessness, and relationship struggles.
I maintain a client centered philosophy in my practice, believing that each individual is the expert in his or her own change. I utilize what I have learned to facilitate the natural momentum for improvement inherent in all people and to help overcome barriers through therapeutic collaborations. I organize my work around my own mindfulness practice, finding this method crucial in making a shift in my own life.
