Gifted and Talented Evaluations in Athens, GA

The Banyan Tree Center offers specialized evaluations to identify gifted and talented individuals in children, adolescents, and adults. Giftedness refers to exceptional abilities in intellectual, academic, creative, or artistic domains that may require educational modifications or enrichment beyond standard curricula.

The evaluation process includes a comprehensive clinical interview with parents to gather information about developmental history, educational experiences, and areas of advanced performance. Standardized cognitive assessments and achievement tests are administered to measure intellectual functioning, reasoning abilities, and academic skills. When relevant, additional measures of creativity, problem-solving, and social-emotional functioning may be included to provide a holistic understanding of the individual’s strengths.

All assessments are conducted by a Licensed Psychologist with a doctoral degree. Our psychologists complete all of the testing and provide comprehensive reports that are clear, integrated, and practical so that recommendations can be realistically applied in multiple settings while being individualized to your needs.

We collaborate with parents, educators, and other professionals to ensure a thorough assessment and to identify any co-occurring learning, attentional, or emotional needs. Following the evaluation, we provide a detailed report outlining assessment results, diagnostic impressions, and tailored recommendations for educational placement, enrichment opportunities, and support strategies.
