What to Expect from Me

My goals in counseling you are creating a feeling of mutual understanding, reminding you that your voice matters, and helping you find the tools to create the life you want. Pursuing counseling can be intimidating or embarrassing, but know that I will always be proud of you choosing to help yourself. Healing and growing is not a linear process and I am on board with you through the highs and lows.

I operate currently from an integrative approach utilizing theory from Narrative, Feminist, and Existential approaches to talk therapy. I borrow skills and techniques from Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Internal Family Systems, and Somatosensory therapies to encourage clients to understand the mind-body connection. While meeting with me you can expect a peaceful, judgment-free atmosphere in which you are free to explore your thoughts and feelings. Implementing therapeutic skills requires trial and error, and I will encourage you to set compassionate, realistic goals for yourself. My hopes are to make you feel safe, understood, and valued while we grow together.

My Education

I completed my Bachelor of the Arts degree at Furman University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I graduated in 2020 with my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Georgia.

My Experience

My previous work experiences in childcare and the public education system sparked my desire to help others find a feeling of agency in their life. I have facilitated support groups for women who are survivors of intimate partner violence as well as a cognitive dissonance group that addresses body image dissatisfaction in adolescent/adult women. I am Safe-Space certified by the University of Georgia and aim to create a supportive therapy experience for clients who identify as LGBTQIA+. I grew up in Georgia and I have worked for the Banyan Tree since 2020. I find that common social/cultural issues regarding religion, gender, and substance use enter “the room” with each person in different ways. These are topics I enjoy exploring with clients on the therapy journey to mutually understand how we are both part of larger systems.

About Me

I offer telehealth-only services because I currently reside in Portland, Oregon. In my free time I enjoy being outside, especially on the beautiful Oregon coast. I also enjoy snuggle time with my cat, reading, baking, and making candles!
