Do you offer Autism evaluations for adults?

Yes, we offer Autism evaluations for adults. The process for adult Autism assessment is tailored to the unique experiences and developmental history of each individual and differs from child evaluations in several important ways. While child evaluations often rely on parent and teacher input and standardized measures designed for younger populations, adult assessments focus on current functioning, adaptive skills, and a thorough review of lifelong patterns.

Our evaluations for adults incorporate clinical interviews, self-report measures, and, when available, input from family members or others who can provide insight into early development and social history. The assessment explores areas such as social communication, sensory experiences, repetitive behaviors, and adaptive functioning. Special attention is given to understanding historical trends, including areas of masking (consciously or unconsciously hiding Autistic traits), neurodivergence, asynchronous development, and domains that may have been overlooked or misunderstood earlier in life.

We use instruments and approaches appropriate for adults, recognizing that Autism can present differently across the lifespan and may be complicated by co-occurring conditions or experiences. Our goal is to provide an accurate, respectful, and comprehensive evaluation that helps adults better understand their neurodivergent identity and access appropriate supports and resources.
